Preferences
Preferences are settings that affect only one user. Users can change them with the /preferences command in Discord workspaces or in the app where available. Administrators can also adjust member preferences from workspace settings.
Some preferences can be disabled by a workspace administrator in workspace settings. If they are disabled, changing these will have no effect.

Changing preferences by workspace administrators
Workspace administrators can change the preferences of a user in the app. To do this, go to workspace settings and navigate to the users tab. Select a user and expand the preferences section.
If the workspace uses the "Only show manually approved users" option, the users tab places approved members in a dedicated area at the top and keeps the remaining members in a separate list below it. This makes the approved users easy to find when administrators need to adjust member settings. The same approval list controls internal assignment pickers, including task assignees, ticket assignees, ticket assignee filters, and ticket escalation users.
See Member Approval for the full workflow.
