Data deletion

Leaving a workspace, deleting your account, and deleting a workspace have different effects. Signing out or simply not using the app does not request deletion.

Download your account data

Before deleting your account, request an export from User Settings → Legal when it is available for your account. The archive includes tasks, documents, and topics from projects you can access. Preparation can take up to 24 hours; the completed download remains available for two weeks.

How do we determine when to delete your data?

For workspace members

Leaving a native Bnder workspace or being removed starts membership cleanup. In Discord-backed workspaces, Bnder detects departed members during its scheduled hourly membership check.

Cleanup removes workspace access, task assignments and subscriptions, shared-resource access, calendar participation and imported calendar data, and the member's paid-seat assignment. Tasks remain in the workspace; they are unassigned rather than deleted. Events created by the departing member and files and folders they own in that workspace are deleted.

Workspace owners must transfer ownership before leaving. Event-log retention continues to apply after a member leaves.

For workspace data

Deleting a native workspace is an explicit owner action in workspace settings. It permanently removes that workspace's content for everyone. Export what you need and inform the other members before confirming.

For Discord-backed workspaces, Bnder checks whether any connected Bnder bot remains in the server: Task Manager, Knowledge Manager, Calendar Manager, or Ticket Manager. If none remains, workspace cleanup is handled by the scheduled hourly check.

Files and attachments are removed before the workspace record. If storage cleanup fails temporarily, the workspace remains available to the cleanup process so it can retry. A scheduled check is not a guarantee that every deletion finishes within that hour.

Delete your account

Open User Settings → General and follow the account deletion flow. It requires recent authentication and confirmation by typing DELETE.

Account deletion is permanent. Workspaces you own are deleted for everyone, subscriptions billed through your account are cancelled, and you lose access to other workspaces. Records managed by those shared workspaces can remain. See Delete your account before proceeding.

Backups

Backups are for disaster recovery, not individual recovery of intentionally deleted content. Do not rely on a backup to reverse an account, workspace, or file deletion. For questions about data retention, contact support before deleting.
