Mentions and Automation
Virtual coworkers can respond in two ways, depending on your plan.
Automatic task reviews
Automatic task reviews are available on Pro.
When a new task is created, each coworker that can work on the task's project can post a short review comment. The review focuses on the coworker's department and expertise and aims to highlight missing details, risks, or next steps.
Mentioning a coworker
Direct mention replies are available on Starter and Pro.
You can mention a virtual coworker in a task comment the same way you mention users:
- Type
@in the comment field. - Select the coworker from the suggestion list.
- Post the comment.
The coworker replies in the same thread. Their messages are labeled as AI-generated in the UI.
Assigned coworkers and comments
If a virtual coworker is assigned to a task, they can also react to new comments even if they are not mentioned. This follow-up automation is available on Pro.
They only respond when the new comment is relevant to their expertise. If it is not relevant, they stay silent.
What they see
When responding, a coworker can use:
- The task title, description, and existing comments.
- The language configured for the workspace.
- Any tools allowed by their permissions.
They do not post unless triggered by a new task or a direct mention.
